BOP Cycle counter System mounted on koomey units

This system will log all cycle performance on the BOP. The system will be hooked up to the koomey unit, each cycle and each function of the koomey unit will be monitored in relation to the pressure.

Why?
To improve maintenance and safety!
Drilling contractors require to count the cycles that they perform with each ram, this to ensure they can perform better maintenance.
Drilling contractors also like to know the amount of cycles that they can do with one ram set rubbers.
By logging the data on a weekly base, the Drilling contractor can proof their function test of all BOP functions, by printing a screen page. 

  • System logs the last 3 times a rams was operated, incl date and time.
  • The added level indicator can give the driller a warning when his fluid level gets below a given min.
  • Driller can see the pressures in a graph with a log from 1 hrs, so he can see when pressures where deviating from the normal situation, this helps trouble shooting.

Hardware:
– PLC
– Proximity switches to count the handle movements in combination with pressure sensors:

  • Annular   – Pressure range from 0-1500 psi from it’s own regulator.
  • Top pipe RAMS  (Pressure range from 0-1500 psi and option to go to 3000 psi  (manifold pressure)
  • Blind shear RAMS  (Pressure range from 0-1500 psi and option to go to 3000 psi  (manifold pressure)  
  • Bottom pipe RAMS  (Pressure range from 0-1500 psi and option to go to 3000 psi  (manifold pressure)
  • Kill line HCR  (Pressure range from 0-1500 psi and option to go to 3000 psi  (manifold pressure)
  • Choke line HCR  (Pressure range from 0-1500 psi and option to go to 3000 psi  (manifold pressure)
  • High pressure bypass  (This will manipulate the manifold pressure 1500 psi to the accumulator pressure 3000 psi)

– 3 Pressure sensors on the Koomey system

  • Accumulator pressure 3000 psi (normal operations)  (sensor 0-3000 psi)
  • Manifold pressure 1500 psi (normal operations) (sensor 0-3000 psi)
  • Annular pressure 0-1500 (normal operations) ( sensor 0-3000 psi)

– Ultrasonic level sensor
